Mirboo North is a historic and picturesque township in the heart of the Strzelecki Ranges located 155 kilometres southeast of Melbourne. It boasts a rich agriculture region within South Gippsland, between Leongatha and the Latrobe Valley and boasts a population of approximately 1700.
Mirboo North’s commercial centre is situated on Ridgway which includes a supermarket, pub and a collection of shops and historic buildings. Baromi Park fronts much of the northern side of Ridgway, and offers expanses of lawns, gardens, BBQ areas, picnic shelters and is the venue of the monthly local country market.
Mirboo North marks the halfway point on the magnificent Grand Ridge Road in Central Gippsland. Looking down from its high ridge, this traditional country town is surrounded by some of the most scenic views in the area. The rail trail consists of 13 kilometres through temperate rainforest and dry sclerophyll forest in the Strzelecki Ranges of walking, cycling and horse riding finishing in the township of Boolarra.
See native flora including the town's emblem, the lily, and beautifully decorated street murals capturing the spirit of the town’s early days. Just a short drive North of Mirboo North on the Strzelecki Highway is the Lyrebird Forest Walk which is a 5 kilometre walking track through native bushland.
Mirboo North is also home to the renowned Grand Ridge Brewery, winner of over 100 international awards and it’s beautifully manicured 18 hole golf course with abundant wildlife and excellent year round playing conditions.
As our community is largely made up of families, we have an excellent education precinct catering from kindergarten to secondary school.
