Melaleuca House has a large community building with lounge, dining, kitchen, storeroom, laundry and bathroom.
In keeping with most retirement villages a lump sum ($140,000) is payable by those people accepting a unit. When a resident vacates the complex an amount of $140 per month for the period of occupancy is deducted. The balance of the lump sum will be repaid within one month of leaving. The low amount of lump sum should allow people to downsize and free up funds for other purposes.
A fortnightly fee includes food (lunch & dinner), cook and cleaner, electricity, gas in kitchen, insurance, rates, water usage and maintenance. Pensioners should be eligible for rental assistance.
The units are designed for single retirees over the age of 65 who wish to continue an independent style of living but with communal facilities. There are five units available and the advertised cost is per unit.

A formal agreement is signed.
