About Me

Des in 3 words: Motivated, Diligent, Adventurous

Des’ Role

Born and educated in New Zealand, Des Lorkin began his career working with Air New Zealand in 1970 at Auckland Airport. Apart from providing an excellent grounding in customer service, this role also gave him a taste for travel, which is still one of his greatest interests today. In 1971, Des completed his national service in the NZ Army. Luckily for him, the Vietnam War ended, before he was required to serve.

Moving across the Tasman in 1975, Des changed career paths and began working in the real estate industry. He has worked in many suburbs throughout Melbourne, including North Melbourne, St. Kilda, Caulfield, Carnegie, Glenhuntly, Bentleigh & McKinnon. He began his career at Stockdale & Leggo Caulfield in 1981.

Des describes the Glen Eira area as an excellent residential one, with easy access to train, tram, quality schools, as well as Monash University Caulfield Campus and approx. 20 minutes by train to the city.

What He Brings

Since the beginning of his career, providing satisfaction to the customer has always been Des’ guiding business philosophy.

It wasn’t long before Des’ many talents in the industry were recognised and, as a result, he has won a string of awards as ‘Top Salesman’ and ‘Top Auction Lister’. He also owned his own office for 28 years, and it was one of the top 10 Stockdale & Leggo Offices for much of that time. Des has listed and sold many properties over the years, so why not give him a call.

Des has been married to his wife, Margaret, for over 41 years and has three children. His association with the local cricket and football clubs, Carnegie Lions Club, Caulfield RSL and other community bodies, have given Des, and Margaret, a feel for the area. Margaret is also a Licensed Estate Agent and Accredited Property Manager, and real estate trainer, their combined skills offer a thorough understanding of the needs of both buyers and sellers.
