The Stockies Gift Guide For Every Household
A lot of households will be grateful to have their health and happiness this holiday season. But if you would like to give your loved one a special gift this Christmas, it’s important to consider their space! For example, a first-time home buyer will have a different Wishlist to that of a downsizer. Keeping that in mind, here are a few tips on what to fill their stockings with this year!
For first home buyers:
These are the people that are arguably the easiest to buy for. They have just bought either their dream home or an investment property, and will most likely need to deck out their space!
A first-home buyer may need to set up a kitchen from scratch, meaning a good quality set of pots and pans would be an appreciated and useful gift. Or perhaps they have been saving for a brand new mattress, you could give them a voucher to contribute, or deck out their bed with a set of fresh sheets (linen is the latest trend right now!)
For the family that seems to have it all:
We all know this family, they seem to have it all! This can be tricky when choosing a gift to give, but more often than not, they really just want to spend quality time together.
You could give them an outdoor game - a basketball hoop? A new cricket set? An inflatable pool? Take into account their space and what they already own, but try and choose a gift that will get the whole family involved!
Family fun also takes place indoors, and if they haven’t already set up their home theatre, a new sound system or gaming system could be a huge hit! Alternatively, movie vouchers are always a crowd pleaser, getting the whole family together and out to the cinema to see the latest release over a bucket of popcorn - perfect!
For the downsizers that definitely have it all:
Gifting to somebody that is trying to downsize; the hardest Christmas conundrum of all! But it’s still possible to give a meaningful present that won’t add to their pile of ‘things to get rid of’.
This calls for vouchers. Vouchers can sometimes feel impersonal or like a ‘cheat gift’, but for the downsizer, a voucher to one of their bucket list restaurants, or a voucher to spend at one of their favourite stores will be very well-received. Voucher’s give receivers the gift of choice, as they can choose when and what they spend the voucher on. It’s a win-win scenario, as you get to spread the Christmas cheer whilst respecting their downsizing goal!
This year may look a little different to other holiday seasons, but giving gifts to your loved ones is still the same! Whether your family opens presents around the tree, on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, or your gift giving is more about a heartfelt card, we hope that you have a safe and happy holiday season.
